Η Γιορτή των Αναμνήσεων
Ανώγεια, θέατρο Αγίου Υακίνθου 28 – 31 Ιουλίου 2011

Η γιορτή είναι αφιερωμένη στους αγαπημένους απόντες. Γιορτάζουμε την ανάμνηση μέσα στα πρόσωπα εκείνων που απουσιάζουν. Για το λόγο αυτό, μπορεί ο καθένας να φέρει τη φωτογραφία αγαπημένου προσώπου που έχει φύγει. Οι φωτογραφίες θα τοποθετηθούν στον Ασφένταμο του Υακίνθου με μικρά ξύλινα μανταλάκια. Το δέντρο από φέτος θα ονομάζεται το «Δέντρο των Αναμνήσεων».

Η αναλυτική ανακοίνωση υπάρχει στον ιστοχώρο των Υακινθείων όπου θα ανακοινωθεί και το πλήρες πρόγραμμα των εκδηλώσεων.

The Celebration of Memories
Anogia, Theatre Agios Yakinthos 28th – 31st July 2011

The festival is dedicated to the beloved absent. We celebrate the memory of those in persons who are absent. For this reason, anyone can bring a photo of a loved one who is gone. The photos will be placed in the Asfentamos of Hyacinth with small wooden pegs. This year’s tree is called the «Tree of Memories.»

«MANOS ELEFTHERIOU – The Greek Song»

Yakinthia is a cultural event that lasts one week, end of July at the mountain of Psiloritis at 1,260 meters above the sea.
They are named after the Greek saint of Love, Yakinthos, who is honored the 3rd of July.
Yakinthos was a young man who, when he was 20 years old, was killed by Trajan the Roman Emperor for his love for God and being Christian.

It’s church at the mountain of Psiloritis is built the same was Minoan built their houses at that mountain.

The ideal place to be in a hot day of summer since this construction of stone does not allow heat to enter and keeps fresh air inside. The same happens in winter time and the place keeps its high temperature.

The next videos despite being in Greek can give you an idea of the church, the place and the people.
They also announced their plan for next year to invite shepherds from other Mediterranean Countries and exchange ideas and learn each other’s habits, customs and ….. food which will be prepared on a daily basis and offered to visitors.
