When you come to Crete by boat you arrive at about 6:00 in the morning. The best you can do at that time is to visit the square at the city center with the fountain of the «Lions» (its actual name is Kalergon, but it is not an easy name to remember so we all call it the Lions’ Square). There you can find breakfast and see the city wake up. Your breakfast has to have «Mpougatsa» which is made with cream or cheese and phyllo.
