To Φαράγγι του Δικτάμου έχει μήκος περίπου 8 Χλμ. ξεκινά από το Κατωχώρι σε υψόμετρο 300μ και καταλήγει στον οικισμό Φαράγγι σε υψόμετρο 40μ. πολύ κοντά στο χωριό Στύλος. Είναι πολύ ομορφο και κατάφυτο από αρκετά είδη της Κρητικής χλωρίδας και πολλές κρημνώδεις πλευρές.
Την εκδρομή οργάνωσε ο Ορειβατικός Σύλογος Ηρακλείου την Κυριακή 20 Ιουνίου 2010 και μετά την πεζοπορία πήγαμε στην Γεωργιούπολη, στην πλευρά προς τα Χανιά για μπάνιο. Προσοχή εκεί τα νερά είναι παγωμένα, καμία σχέση με την υπόλοιπη παραλία, διότι εκβάλουν 2 ποτάμια.

Diktamos Gorge is very beautiful and full of many species of Cretan flora and many precipitousness sides. The crossing is easy, since it is situated near the city of Chania, is accessed from the village of Katechori Keramia (altitude 300 m and Chania 21 km).The crossing takes three to four hours and the exit is in the village of Faraggi (altitude 40m. And 17 km from Chania), a short distance from the main road Chania-Stilos.
Sunday June 20th 2010, Mountaineering Club of Heraklion organized an excursion to cross Diktamos Gorge. Since Summer is here, after the walk we went swimming and they chose the west part of Georgioupoli beach. At that place the water is cold since to rivers end there.
