Τα χόρτα είναι ένα από τα αγαπημένα φαγητά, κύρια, πρώτα ή και σαλατικά στο τραπέζι μας.

Ακολουθεί video από την εκπομπή «Καλό Μεσημέρι» του τοπικού τηλεοπτικού καναλιού «ΚΡΗΤΗ ΤV», όπου παρουσιάζεται το «μάζεμα», το καθάρισμα και 2 πιάτα, γιαχνερά και ομελέτα με χόρτα.

Here below you can watch a video as broadcasted by the local TV channel «ΚΡΗΤΗ ΤV» and you can watch how to collect greens and how to make two Cretan traditional plates.

The starting 4 minutes of the video refer to collecting greens and that you must take home as many as you need for 4 to 5 days maximum because later they loose the beneficial for us ingredients. In addition, when collecting them you must not destroy the plant so that you find some more the next time you visit the area. The next 5 minutes shows the collection at the field and at about 10 minutes from the beginning you can watch the preparation of two traditional Cretan plates. They prepare a main dish with greens, potatoes, onion and tomatoes, called «yahnera» and later they make an omelette with asparagus.
