At the West part of Crete, a couple of kilometers away from Kissamos town, there is a village called Spilia (which means cave). There you can see a cave where St. John the Hermit lived which is presently a church dedicated to him.
During Christmas night there is a special ceremony for the birth of Jesus and people go there to see the event.
